The islands of the Caribbean are a paradise waiting to be visited and explored, however St John in the USVI stands apart from all the rest, owing to the foresight and generosity of Mr. Lawrence Rockefeller and his Jackson Hole Preserve. After discovering St John in the early 1950's, Mr. Rockefeller purchased much of the island, which he then donated to the US Government in 1956 to establish the US Virgin Islands National Park. Today the parklands cover roughly 75% of the island, preserving its natural state with unending beauty and bountiful wildlife.
Going one step further, within the boundaries of the park there are still a limited number of privately owned parcels of land, which offer the unique opportunity to have a paradise within the paradise - your own home completely surrounded by the parklands in their natural state.
